One machine on which a part is made from start to finish.
AVIAturn 35MY — a CNC lathe with a Y axis and live tooling. Turning, milling, cross drilling and threading in a single setup.
Why it matters
One setup instead of three.
A part turned on a plain lathe that needs a milled flat and a cross hole then travels to a milling machine — a second setup, a second datum and a second source of error. The Y axis and live tooling of the AVIAturn 35MY do all of it without taking the part out of the chuck.
In practice this means three things: more accurate relative position of the machined surfaces, a shorter lead time, and a lower price at small quantities — because at ten pieces the changeovers cost the most, not the machining itself.

Machinery
What the AVIAturn 35MY lathe can machine.
Everything below is done on one machine — no subcontracting and no downtime between operations. Live tooling and a Y axis mean a part with a milled flat, a cross hole or a keyway leaves the lathe finished.
- Maximum turning diameter
- up to 350 mm over the bed
- Maximum turning length
- up to 580 mm
- Bar stock through the spindle
- up to Ø65 mm
- Spindle bore
- Ø75.5 mm
- Three-jaw chuck
- Ø210 mm
- Spindle speed
- up to 5000 rpm
- Tool turret
- 12 positions
- Live tooling
- yes, up to 5000 rpm
- Y axis
- ±50 mm
- Control
- FANUC 0i-TF
- Tolerances
- IT7 as standard, tighter on request
- Minimum quantity
- 1 piece

Materials
What we turn.
- Structural steels
- S235, C45, 16MnCr5, 42CrMo4
- Stainless steels
- 1.4301, 1.4404, 1.4571
- Aluminium
- PA6, PA38, EN AW-7075
- Brass and bronze
- CuZn39Pb3, CuSn12
- Plastics
- POM, PA6, PTFE, PEEK
We can buy the material or you can supply your own. For a single piece the latter usually works out cheaper.
Operations
What the machine does in one setup.
External and internal turning, facing, grooves, undercuts, tapers, contour-copied shapes, parting off.
Metric, imperial and trapezoidal threading, axial and cross drilling, milling of flats, keyways and splines, holes on the circumference and on the face.
